The auction house is the heart of a solid MMO. It allows players to sell crafted or looted items for a profit to other players for cold hard LotRO gold. The auction house is a great way to make money or build up your character with great armor, weapons, and more. You can buy and sell almost anything on the auction house. Below is a diagram and overview.

Using the Auction House

There area variety of aspects to the auction house:

• Search: You can use the auction house to browse through a variety of categories, from weapons, to jewelry, to armor and more. By clicking a subcategory and searching, you can see specific items. You can also narrow your search by selecting an item level range, only eligible items to your character, and sorting by bid price, name, and buyout. This allows you to find items quickly.
• Bidding & Buyout: There are two ways to try to acquire an item on the auction house - either bidding or buying out. Similiar to e-bay style auctions, you can decide to bid on an item and hope you get it, or pay a higher buyout price and pick it up from your mailbox immediately. It's your choice.
• Posting Items: You can post your own items on the AH but you'll have to pay a small posting fee and choose how long you want to list the item. A sample posting screen is shown below.

Finding the Auction House

The auction house can be located on the map by looking for the small hammer. A sample map picture is shown here to give you an idea of what you're looking for. Once inside, speak to the auctioneer to open the auction prompt window.
